Aristotle's syllogism:
all men are mortal
Socrates is a man
therefore socrates is mortal

if - then inference
problem discounts the case where the condition is false,
and the resulting case of a vacuous set.
naive logic:
the men of a town are divided into two categories
those shaves by the barber and those who shave themselves:
the statement
each man in this town who does not shave himself is shaved by the barber.

is incorrect , because it discounts the case of the barber himself , if he doesn't shave; he is neither shaved by himself nor by the barber.
the negation of a universal statement , is an existential one.
and so on...

And there was the case of the engineering professor who liked the sound of violins playing in his head. Hallucinations caused by a chemical imbalance caused by an abnormal reaction to a certain stimulus, caused by suppressing that which wants to be expressed physically in some form. Evading the senses , breaching laws and moving into the unbelievable.
then there was the case of a young (innocent)girl molested by her cousin(perpetrator).
